Privacy Policy

ZeroPing Almanac for Android  |  Effective date: 13/05/2026

1. Who we are

ZeroPing Almanac is developed and published by Barricaded Labs, an independent software publisher based in Australia. You can contact us at support@barricadedlabs.com.

2. What data we collect

None

ZeroPing Almanac does not collect any data from you. There are no accounts, no registration, no sign-in, and no forms that submit information anywhere.

The app holds no INTERNET permission in its Android manifest. This is not a configuration choice -- it is an architectural one. The app has no technical ability to transmit data over a network.

3. Data stored on your device

Some features store data locally on your device so they work as expected between sessions. This data never leaves your device.

• Tool history -- recent inputs and results for 15 tools, stored in app-private local storage. TOTP codes and raw hash outputs are excluded from history.
• TOTP secrets -- stored in app-private local storage and protected using Android hardware-backed security (Android Keystore). They are also excluded from standard Android backups.
• App settings and home layout -- your preferences for tool order and app behaviour, stored locally via DataStore.
• Encrypted backup files -- if you use the backup feature, an encrypted file is written to a location you choose on your device. The file is encrypted using PBKDF2 key derivation with AES-GCM. Barricaded Labs never has access to this file or the password that protects it.

All locally stored data can be cleared at any time via Android Settings > Apps > ZeroPing Almanac > Storage > Clear data.

4. Permissions

None declared

ZeroPing Almanac declares no permissions in its Android manifest. The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, storage, notifications, or any other sensitive resource.

A few points worth noting about how specific features work without permissions:

• QR decoding -- works via Android's share sheet. You share a QR code image from any app on your device; ZeroPing Almanac receives it and decodes it locally. No camera permission is needed or requested.
• Backup export and import -- handled through the Android system file picker, which does not require storage permissions. The app can only read a file you explicitly select; it cannot browse or scan your storage.
• TOTP hardware security -- TOTP secrets are protected by the Android Keystore at the hardware level. This does not require a biometric or keyguard permission declaration; the operating system enforces it internally.
• No INTERNET permission -- the app has no network access of any kind. This is not a restriction applied at runtime; the permission is simply absent from the manifest.

5. Third-party services

None

ZeroPing Almanac does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics libraries, advertising networks, crash reporting services, or remote configuration services. There are no third parties involved in the operation of this app.

6. Android backup

Android's automatic cloud backup is disabled for ZeroPing Almanac (android:allowBackup="false"). App data is not backed up to Google Drive or any other cloud service through the Android backup system. The only backup mechanism available is the manual, encrypted, on-device export described in section 3.

7. Children's privacy

ZeroPing Almanac is a utility app intended for adults with technical backgrounds. It is not directed at children under the age of 13. Because the app collects no personal data from any user, there is no specific risk to children's privacy. However, the app is not designed for or marketed to children.

8. Your rights under Australian privacy law

The Australian Privacy Act 1988 grants you rights in relation to personal information held about you. Because ZeroPing Almanac holds no personal information about you -- on our servers or anywhere else -- there is nothing for us to provide, correct, or delete on request.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a revised effective date. We will not make changes that introduce data collection without prominent notice in the app and in the Play Store listing.
